2023 Coolum Beach Cricketers Day

Coolum Beach Bowls Club has a very close relationship with Coolum Beach Cricket Club, being a sponsor of the club for a number of years.

As a major fundraising event for the Cricket Club, this club is hosting the inaugural Cricketers Day to be held on Sunday, 26 February from 9.30am. The format of the day will be a Triples game consisting of teams of two (2) bowlers and one (1) cricketer. This may vary a little depending on numbers and rink availability. The bowls will conclude at 12noon, followed by a ‘sausage sizzle’, all for $15/player. The Cricket Club will be conducting raffles, a memorabilia auction and other activities that will ensure that it is a very relaxed and enjoyable day.

From the club’s perspective, this is great opportunity for the club to showcase our sport in a relatively competitive manner, that will hopefully appeal to the cricketers more than any ‘barefoot’ bowls that they may have been exposed to. The club believes that active and retiring cricketers are the ideal age bracket and sporting prowess that transfers best to lawn bowls. Please support this promotion as you may get a chance to play with a future club champion.

Bowlers are requested to enter teams below as a ‘Pair’ and the organisers will assign each team a cricketer on the day.
