How to maximise your listing

Hi FQ family!

Now that our directory is in full swing and our memberships are growing, we thought we would include some tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your listing.

To update any details in your listing, simply log in and hit the ‘Manage Listing’ button in your Members Portal and click through the listing overview until you hit the details form, update any new info and then hit save.

Images

Use your full allotted gallery space. If you have paid for your listing and have 10 image spaces available – use all of those bad boys! Customers love to see as many examples of your work as possible, a full and varied portfolio increases your chances of click throughs to your website or socials and, of course, increases direct enquiries!

If you just did a cracker wedding over the weekend or designed a bouquet to die for, make sure you add those images in. Keeping your portfolio up to date and fresh will catch the eye of our repeat directory visitors.

Showing a diverse range of your designs is always helpful for communicating the scope and breadth of your design capabilities. If you have a curated, specific style; that’s amazing! You can show your scope through different arrangements and installations. Communication is key!

High quality and professional images are always encouraged. We have provided a comment section for each image so you can credit your photographer, which is always, always best practice.

Your bio

Your bio is your chance to introduce your self to your future clients so this is your chance to shine! Is there anything that you want or need them to know before they enquire with you?

You can tell them:

What your passionate about within floristry

What your business focus is (weddings, brand activations, sustainability, retail)

How long you have been in the industry

Which locations you service or if travel is welcomed or not

Do you specialise in a particular style or ethos?

Your bio is an excellent marketing tool. Your clients are looking for a florist to fulfil their flower needs, so using your bio to communicate with them how you can do this, and why you’re the best florrie for the job is incredibly useful.

Take some time when creating your listing to nail the bio. Premium+ members have 1000 characters to play with (which is approx 300 words) so use them to set your self apart.

Services

This one may seem like a no brainer but in order to show up in as many searches as possible on the directory you need to select all of the services you offer.

If you are a studio based florist that offers wedding and events BUT you also want to book the occasional freelancing job on your off weekends – be sure to tick ‘freelancer’ when you are setting up your listing.

Likewise, if you are a retail florist who also offers wedding services – be sure to tick ‘weddings’, ‘events’ and ‘bouquet deliveries’ to cover all types of possible job opps.

The more services you offer the more directory searches you will turn up in.

Video

Premium+ members have a video allocation and if Instagram and Tik Tok are any indication – the way of the future is video content.

We highly encourage utilising this very effective marketing tool, if you have professional, branded content that’s great, your job is already done. If not, have you created a schmick reel that your super proud of? You can use this too!

The video just needs to be uploaded by you to Youtube or Vimeo and then simply copy the link in to your listing details.

Testimonials

Testimonials are an excellent vote of confidence for clients looking for their dream florist. If you’ve received a glowing review in the past, don’t be shy, add it to your listing!

Testimonials can be as strong as word of mouth recommendations, so gathering your best reviews that compliment not only the flowers you made but also your customer service can show potential customers the level of service they will receive if they book you.

Let us know if there is anything else you would like us to cover so you can get the absolute most out of your listing.

Happy flowering!

The FQ xx
